Joe Haars, MSc(PT), BHSc(Kin), FCAMPT

Physiotherapist/Owner

I am a registered physiotherapist and owner of Reactivate Physiotherapy & Massage. I have lived in Durham Region my whole life and I am excited at the opportunity to provide a higher level of rehabilitation to the community.

I received my Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2007 as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University in 2005.

I also have my certification in Acupuncture and Personal Training. I am committed to evidence-based practice and take many additional courses to further my knowledge to better meet client needs. I am a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) which is a prestigious post-graduate physiotherapy certification for internationally-recognized qualifications in hands-on manual and manipulative therapy. I have also received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of golf related injuries and fitness through the world renowed FitforeGolf™.

It has always been my goal to have my own practice where I can provide a higher standard of one-on-one client-centered care that is effective, efficient and proven to allow patients to reach their rehabilitation goals. Our clinic is able to do this because we have highly skilled and experienced registered physiotherapists and registered massage therapists that are committed to patient outcomes. We DO NOT believe in seeing a high volume of patients at a time but rather schedule two physiotherapy patients an hour where the patient interacts DIRECTLY with the treating therapist who employs a multi-modal evidence based approach to allow the patient to reach their goals.

I have experience successfully treating clients of all ages for various conditions whether they be musculoskeletal, cardio-respiratory or neurological. I also come from a highly competitive athletic backround in hockey, soccer, golf, basketball, volleyball and running where I have experience working with elite athletes. Recently, I have transitioned to taking up the sport of Triathalon and I am excited to see where this training takes me. Whatever your goals, I am committed to working with you to achieve them.

Sendi DeMedeiros, MSc(PT), Hons.B.Kin

Physiotherapist

I am a registered physiotherapist and have proudly been part of the Reactivate Physiotherapy and Massage team since 2011. Throughout my career I have gained valuable skills and experience by working in busy multidisciplinary clinical settings here in the Durham region as well as in the Hamilton and Guelph area. I have made the Durham region my home since 2006, and look forward to continuing my career in such a diverse area.

All of my academic training has been completed at McMaster University, where I received my Masters in Physiotherapy in 2005 as well as an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2002.

I have continued my professional education by attaining my certification in acupuncture and have completed level 3 manual therapy courses through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

I strongly believe in incorporating these advanced skills into treatment plans to successfully aid my clients in achieving their rehabilitative goals.

Here at Reactivate Physiotherapy and Massage, I am able to provide quality, client-centred, evidence-based care with each individual client. Whether it is acute or chronic pain, a sports injury or post-operative care, my focus and main objective is to assist clients in achieving their personal rehabilitative and physical goals. This allows them to resume and maintain their daily activities and improve their quality of life.

My personal interest and life-long participation in various sports including volleyball, tennis, golf and equestrian, allows me to identify with my active clients and understand their activity related goals. I enjoy treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, and am sincerely committed to helping clients achieve rehabilitative success in a positive and friendly environment.

I look forward to meeting and working with all future clients, and achieving their goals together.
